August 19, 2019 CISPAC staff joined together with the Sto-Rox community and the NFL to celebrate the inauguration of its new athletic field. With the band playing and television cameras recording, students and their families along with school, community and business leaders and Mr. Franco Harris – representing the National Football League – gathered to mark this major milestone in the district’s journey of revitalization.Brian Rhindress, former CISPAC Site Coordinator at Sto-Rox said, “This day is a great day for the community. This will be a place where everyone can gather and use as a resource. It’s a great accomplishment because everyone had to work together to make this happen.”Coordinating efforts with Sto-Rox alumni, Rhindress worked alongside school, community and business leaders to help the district raise over $500,000 – including a $250,000 matching grant from the NFL – so that the students of this blossoming community, ripe with revitalization, can be inspired to excel. And, if the first 5-weeks of the football season is a sign, the Sto-Rox Viking are soaring undefeated into the second-half of the season!
