The Power of a Dinner Table

A New York Times opinion column looks at the importance of a family dinner for kids in Washington, D.C.  Kathy Fletcher, David Simpson, and their son Santi host a weekly dinner, welcoming 15 to 20 teens into their home.Every Thursday night, they gather around the table for a meal and to "demonstrate [their] commitment to care for one another."The essay underscores CIS founder Bill Milliken's long-held belief that "“I still haven’t seen one program change one kid’s life,” he says. “What changes people is relationships.
