Full-Service Community Schools Grant: Year 1 Insights

At Pittsburgh Area Community Schools, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where every student has the support they need to succeed. Our commitment to this vision is exemplified by our Full-Service Community Schools (FSCS) model, which aims to transform schools into hubs of comprehensive support for students, families, and the wider community.

What are Full-Service Community Schools?

Full-Service Community Schools are more than just places of learning, they are centers of community life, connecting students, families, and community members to a wide range of essential resources. Our organization plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between individuals and the resources they need, whether those are academic, health and wellness, or family engagement services. By linking people to these resources, Full-Service Community Schools help remove barriers to learning and create a more equitable educational experience for all students.

Our Year 1 Report

We are excited to share that we have partnered with, Child Trends, a leading research organization, to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of our school districts we serve. Their expertise has been instrumental in gathering and analyzing data that provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of our initiatives. This first annual report covers key areas such as student achievement, attendance, behavior, and school climate, providing a baseline for measuring our progress over the coming years.

A 5-Year Commitment to Impact

This report is part of our ongoing commitment under the 5-year Full-Service Community School grant from the U.S. Department of Education (2023-2028). Each year, we will continue to evaluate our impact, using the data to refine our services to ensure that our schools remain places where every student can thrive.

Looking Ahead

The data and findings from this report will be crucial as we continue to refine and enhance services. We are excited to use this information to drive further improvements and to ensure that our schools continue to be places where every student can thrive.

We invite you to read the full report and learn more about the impact of our work in the Greater Pittsburgh region.
